If a candidate does not pass PCCE/PACE, there is a thirty (30) day waiting period, from the date PCCE/PACE is taken, before the paralegal becomes eligible to re-take the exam. This form is not the application itself, but confirms retake eligibility. Pending approval of this form, applicants will receive instructions on how to submit their proper exam fees and forms. Retake request forms are reviewed by the Certifications Manager.
The soonest this form may be submitted is thirty (30) days from the date of the most recent exam attempt. Waivers submitted sooner than thirty (30) days from the date of the most recent exam attempt will be declined. Effective October 2018, candidates are limited to three (3) exam attempts in two years (one original attempt and two retakes).
Please contact the Certifications Manager at certifications@paralegals.org with any questions regarding the retake policies.
Please create a Submittable account to proceed with your PACE application. This is a separate account from your NFPA website log-in. If you are creating a new account, use the email address on file with NFPA (found on your receipt).
Please be prepared to submit all required information/documentation at the time of application. Under no circumstances should payment or other confidential identifying personal information (birthdate, Social Security Number, compensation) be submitted with this form. Please email info@paralegals.org with questions regarding your payment status.
Applications will be processed in the order received. A decision regarding your application is generally granted within 30 days, but may take longer depending on volume. Approved applicants will receive their authorization and scheduling instructions via email. Applicants will have 90 days from the date of that notice to sit for the exam.
Questions should be addressed to the Certifications Manager at certifications@paralegals.org.
